Easter 2019


On Good Friday the children took part in a workshop and created mini Easter gardens and baskets to take home, and a wonderful large Easter Garden for church.

The Sunday School children and others told the story of Baboushka, an old woman who went in search of the Christ child and gave her belongings to those in need along the way.

Harvest 2018


Thank you to everyone who brought donations for the Trussell Trust foodbank to our Harvest Festival service. Thanks too to Downton Band for playing for us and to those who had decorated the church so beautifully.
After the service we joined together for a bring and share lunch - a very happy time of fellowship.

At Church for Everyone on
18th December we had an ad-hoc nativity. Everyone joined in and played their part in telling the Christmas story.

This month we were thinking about what we can each do to build God's kingdom and the things we might do that get in the way of this.

At Church for Everyone we were exploring the story of the Good Samaritan. We made these flowers and decorated the petals with ways we can show love to our neighbours.
Thought for the day: who IS our neighbour? And how can we show them love?

Sunday School July 2016
The children have been learning about Jesus' disciples, and that we too are his disciples. Their pictures show the first 12 disciples who were called by Jesus, and they have also drawn pictures of themselves.

The children from Sunday School presented their Nativity play in our December "Church for Everyone" service. Some of the grown-ups enjoyed taking part too!

The Sunday School children have been busy learning about the Easter Story. On Good Friday they took part in a workshop and created pictures and mini Easter gardens to take home (pictured left), and a wonderful large Easter Garden for church (right).

Mothering Sunday 2015

At our Mothering Sunday service on 15th March these beautiful flowers were distributed to all the ladies in the congregation.

Our service on Sunday 8th February 2015 was led by the Archdeacon of Sarum, Ven Alan Jeans, and the Rural Dean, Rev David Bacon.

Sunday School - Spring 2014

Sunday 11th August we celebrated the Festival of St Laurence and we were joined by Archdeacon Alan Jeans.
A cake, baked by Pat Bennett and cut by our Sunday School leader, Janet McGee, was enjoyed by all!

What we've been doing in Sunday School

Easter 2013
On Good Friday the children learned about Holy Week and Easter, and made a Good Friday and an Easter Day garden which were blessed in church during the Easter morning service.

Elaine Hicks-Arnold was presented with a bouquet of flowers to mark her commitment to St Laurence's Church
and her achievement of being choir master and organist in the church
for the last 25 years.
